India Offshore Outsourcing

Americans and Englishmen have always considered India to be the primary outsourcing country. India is a developing nation, however it excels all countries except US when it concerns the amount of scientifically minded English-speaking professionals. As India is yet to be a developed country, the vast pool of talents it possesses is currently available for outsourcing at very low rates – approximately 50 per cent of what a US or UK employee typically demands.

Since the 1960, India attracts ever increasing attention from European and American organizations. First, the fundamental reason for selecting Indian companies for sub-contracting was that Indian human resources were available at significantly lower rates in comparison to their indigenous counterparts. This drastically decreased the overhead costs.

Indian IT outsourcing companies engage special trainers to familiarize their employees with Western lifestyle to make their staff more “gustable” and attractive for their clientele. Employees’ proficiency is ensured by quality supervisions and time-bound projects.

Indian BPOs work in two shifts – day and night. Division into shifts increases business efficiency: night shift works for Americans and Europeans, as they become prime time workers in their own countries. However, Indian staff is paid half the amount of what a US or European employee gets.

Recently, the amount of offshore companies sky rocketed in all the mega cities of India including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore. Call center agent is a highly respected profession for urban youth, who consider such job to be the way to western develoepd countries. Actually, the bulk of income earned by the youth in Indian cities comes from outsourcing companies.
